Yakult has expanded its door-to-door sales model beyond Japan, including into India (Credit: Yakult India)There's currently more than 31,000 Yakult ladies in Japan. The model has also been replicated overseas, with nearly 50,000 more in countries such as China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil and Mexico. Instead of "ladies" they're affectionately known as "Yakult moms" or "aunties" and have the same nurturing and watchful position, with their role in society just as treasured.
